Masking Clearly Besotted + Copic Coloring

Hey folks!

I'm back today to share another card with you! It has definitely been awhile since I've posted. I have spent the last couple of weeks crazy sick, but I'm up and running and good to go again!

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

My favorite thing to do when making a card is building up the images on my card panel with masking. I just LOVE the finished look. Dies are great, however I think by masking and layering your images it gives a card a lil extra oomph. I gotta be honest, I would be in ab-so-lute heaven if stamp companies made dies just for the purpose of masking.

For my card today, I used the To Have And To Hold Stamp Set by Clearly Besotted. This set is gorgeous folks. It's intended for weddings, but it's fab for other occasions as well. In fact, for this card, I stamped a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Uplifting Thoughts Stamp Set on the inside.

So, I started by making mask of the images I wanted to use with Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper, then stamped all of my images with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink on Neenah White Cardstock.

I colored in my images with Copic's (see thumbnail links below), but you could totally use colored pencils or watercolor and it would be just as beautiful.

After I had everything colored in, I went over the highlights on each of the flowers with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter Pen for a lil bit of bling.

Using my T Square Ruler, I lightly added lines down both sides of my images with a pencil, added the shading with my Copic's, then went over the lines with a Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze Black Pen. I was careful not to get too crazy, but I didn't want them to be perfectly straight so I didn't use the ruler for this. I also used the same pen to go over the stamens and centers of the flowers to give them a lil more texture.

I skipped the embellies because I thought the panel had enough going on and called it a day.

That's it! Easy peasy.

ALSO, Simon Says Stamp is celebrating Coloring Book Day by having a 40% off Sale on all IN-STOCK coloring books. Be sure to check that out, because that's a great deal peeps!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me and as always, I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Until next time!
