Feature Friday - Semicircle Turnabout & Yay Dies - Concord & 9th Guest Design

Hey folks!

I'm here today for another Concord & 9th Friday Feature. Today I'm sharing the Semicircle Turnabout Stamp Set and the Yay Dies. In today's video I show how to set up your Turnabout Stamp as well as make an easy ink blended background to show off that awesome pattern!

Now if you follow me, you'll know I'm a colorist at heart. However, Turnabout Stamps are so much fun! These are great if you really want to break out your inks and showcase lots of color.

This month, Concord & 9th also released the YAY Dies. These are fun! You can either use them as I did here on my cards, or you can use the both the negative cuts with the letters on the inside or simply use the letter by themselves. Perfect!

If you've never used a turnabout stamp before, be sure to check out the VIDEO. I show you how to set it up for the first time.

You can watch the video on how I made my cards HERE. You can also click on the thumbnail link below.

So I had planned to make several cards in different ink combinations. In fact, I started to. I had like 8 panels stamped. Then there was an incident involving a cat and a cup of coffee. So. Then I decided I would rather do an ink blended background and use some white pigment ink. I always love how that turns out!

I ink blended some Neenah SOLAR WHITE Cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. I used WILTED VIOLET, PICKED RASPBERRY, WILD HONEY, PEACOCK FEATHERS, and SALTY OCEAN

Then using my MISTI Stamping Tool and the SEMICIRCLE TURNABOUT,  I stamped my panel with Simon Says Stamp WHITE PIGMENT Ink. I did make sure to dry the panel with my HEAT TOOL before I started stamping.  Also, if I were to do this again, I would have double stamped each time.

The trick with turnabout stamps isn't in the order you stamps with different inks. The trick is in that you need to make sure you rotate your panel in the same direction for all 4 turns. I talk more about this in the VIDEO.

For both cards, I die cut more Neenah SOLAR WHITE Cardstock with the phrases from the YAY Die Set. I decided to use the negative space and leave out the inside of the letters, because I wanted to put some Simon Says Stamp BLACK Cardstock behind the white panel to make those words pop!

With 3M FOAM TAPE mounted both white panels at an angle on both cards for some added interest.

To finish off both cards, I cover scraps of cardstock with WILTED VIOLET, PICKED RASPBERRY, and WILD HONEY and die cut hearts with the hearts that are in the RAINBOW WISHES Die Set that's also in this month's release.

I will have some cards featuring the RAINBOW WISHES Stamp Set and Dies next week!

That's it!
