Faux Dimension feat. Hero Arts My Monthly Hero January 2018 with Add On's

Hey folks!

In today's video, I'm showing how I added faux dimension to my card panel using Copic Markers and creating a drop shadow. This is an easy trick to add some interest to your card! I'm using stamps and dies from Hero Arts My Monthly Hero January 2018 Add On's. This has to be one of the sweetest kits!

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click HERE to read my full disclosure policy.

You can watch the video on how I made my cards HERE. You can also click on the thumbnail link below.

I gotta be honest folks, I did play around with this the Hero Arts COLOR LAYERING ROSE Stamp Set before I made, this card, but I really didn't have a pan on how I was going to actually make this. I had an general idea, but otherwise, I just winged it. This stamp set was an add on for the MY MONTHLY HERO Card Kit.

Which by the way, there ARE still kits available! If you haven't picked one up, you totally should.

Adding faux frames to my cards is something I do quite a bit. I just love how it looks. I used the Hero Arts PAPER LAYERING FLORAL HEART WITH FRAME Die and I lightly traced around the inside of the heart before I started stamping. I used Neenah SOLAR WHITE Cardstock and I traced it first to give me an idea where I wanted to stamp the roses.

In the kit this month there are some gorgeous papers! I decided to take my my color inspiration from the paper. I chose Hero Arts Bold Hybrid Ink in ROSE MADDER for the base of my roses. You could use any pink you like. I chose this one because I've found the hybrid inks don't dread out as much when they dry back and I wanted to keep the fine details of that first layer.

On my second layer, I used Hero Art RED ROYAL Ink. Be sure to check out the VIDEO to see what I did on heat embossing these. If you work fast enough, you can sometimes heat emboss with colored inks. I wanted another layer of Hero Arts CLEAR Embossing Powder, so I went over the top of each again with VERSAMARK Ink.

I loved the idea of the gray and gold in the papers so I stamped the leaves in Hero Arts SOFT GRANITE Shadow Ink and heat embossed the second layer with Hero Arts GOLD Embossing Powder. I embossed the sentiment in this as well. This sentiment is from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero January 2016 Card Kit.

I added the outline of the leaves with Hero Arts CHARCOAL Ink around the rest of the images to help fill it in and add a lil bit of interest.

To make the outline of my heart more solid, I used a Copic MULTILINER in Cool Grey.

I talk more in the VIDEO on how I finish this off including my boo boo. I used the Spectrum Noir RED SOLAR Sparkle Pen and it started to leak. So I fixed it with a Uni Ball Signo With Gel Pen.

One of my new besties is the Nuvo GLITTER GLOSS Pen so I added that to the leaf outlines.

I finished it off by adding a drop shadow to all of my images. Be sure to check out the VIDEO to see how I did this.

That's it!
