Altenew Smile More + Shortcut Masking + Video

Hey folks!

I'm back to share another card with you today! However not only do I have a card to share with you but I also have a video! Yep, you heard me A VIDEO! Since this is my first, the video isn't the entire card from start to finish, but please do give it a watch a tell me what you think! I gotta be honest. I totally felt like I was a cross between a yelling teenager and speed talking squirrel.

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

I really can't get enough of Altenew's floral images. Most of the time I color them in with Copic's, but you could totally use any medium and they would look fabulous! If you would like to check out my video head on over to my YouTube Channel or by clicking on the image below.

I stamped a few of the flowers from the Altenew Smile More Stamp Set on a Neenah White Cardstock panel, with My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I also used a stamp from the Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp Set. I wanted a lil something as a filler and this was perfect.

When I masked the panel, I used Inkadinkdo Stamping Mask Paper, but due to some technical difficulties some of them had to be thrown away when I was done with them.

I decided to go with a different color palette on this card folks. I didn't save the link, but I remember seeing a picture of some flowers on Pinterest that were a lot like this. I love the idea of the blue, yellow and white and white together.

With a T-Ruler and a pencil, I lightly traced a frame around my stamped images. Then, I cut some pieces of Post - It Labeling Tape and mask off the border around my card.I said in my video that it was Scotch. It's not. What day's do?

I still needed to be able to mask off all of my images to do my ink blending. Since I lost some of my masks, I decided to place my card panel on my printer and copy the whole thing. Once it was printed I cut around the perimeter of the grouped images. This was a huge time saver and with a some Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue that I had let dry, it made the perfect mask!

I started with Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Persian Blue and using  a Ranger Ink Mini Blending Tool, I lightly blended that on. Then I blended on Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Lavender Fields. I did this a couple of times for each color because I wanted a pretty solid background.

To finish off my card, I used a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter Pen and added some bit Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Glaze Pen to the center of the flowers as well as the brown flowers? leaves?

The last thing I did, was use the My Favorite Things Distressed Patterns Stamp Set. I didn't want to mask everything off again and I wanted to keep my border nice and clean.

That's it! Easy Peasy.

I really hope you enjoyed my card today and as always thanks so much for stopping by to see me!

Until next time!
