Hero Arts Zebra Shaker Card

Hey folks!

My oldest daughter called me this afternoon and asked if I could make a card for her best friend's Mom, because they wanted to surprise her. A "hot pink, zebra print cards with bling." She also told me that they had to meet her Mom in half an hour. That left me 15 minutes. I'm in 5 year old birthday card mode, coloring a cut lil hippo and she's asking for that?  In 15 minutes? No Bueno. I mean, SURE! I couldn't say no. They're 17 year girls, they're broke and they're thinking of someone else. Who can say no to that?

So in the short amount of time I had to switch my brain from a hippo with a party hat to blinged out zebra print, this is what I came up with. Let me tell ya, no joke, I was a maniac trying to get this done so quickly!

I f you're interested in any of the products I've used, I will have thumbnail links for you at the end of the post!

Using the Hero Arts Zebra Stencil and a Ranger Ink Blending Tool, I quickly worked in Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot on Ranger Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I did the same thing on a piece of Simon Says Stamp Doll Pink Cardstock with the matching ink. I then used a Small Stitched Rectangle Die by Lawn Fawn to die cut the center of both pieces.

I have this basket thats sets on my work table and it holds all of my black ink pads. I figure, why put them away when I use them so much right? So since I was speed crafting, I was literally picking up an extra piece of Neenah White Cardstock that had been die cut (Small Stitched Rectangle Set by Lawn Fawn) off my table while reaching into my basket o' black ink. How's that for multi-tasking? I had grabbed Hero Arts Black Dye Ink and stamped a sentiment from The Big, The Bold and The Happy by Winnie and Walter. Best sentiment stamp set EVER!

Before I assembled the two shaker panels onto the Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock Card Base, I went over the Zebra Stripes with Clear Wink of Stella (bling!). I used Grafix Clear Craft Plastic for the shaker window. I threw in a mixture of Pretty Pink Posh Sequins in Sparkling Clear and Craft Medley Sequins in Pink and Black.

I don't know how much I like it, but I thought the card needed a lil somthin and I was out of time, so I grabbed an extra Peony by Avery Elle I had colored with Copic Markers and put that on with some Scotch Mounting Tape.

Nothing leaves my room without getting it's picture taken, so I took one shot and call it good.

Aaand done!

Until next time!
