Simple Watercoloring - A Blog Named Hero - Hero Arts Food Puns

Hey folks!

I'm here today to share some more A Blog Named Hero inspiration for the WATERCOLOR CHALLENGE! In today's video I'm sharing a set of really simple tags. I'm using the Hero Arts FOOD PUNS Stamp Set and quickly coloring them in the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. You could easily make a bunch of these because these images are so simple. They don't take a lot to color in and they are super cute no matter how you color them.

If you're interested in see how I made these you can watch the video HERE or click on the thumbnail link below.

I used the Hero Art Luggage Tag Die to make my tags. This was in the June 2016 My Monthly Hero that is sold out, but an excellent alternative would be a tag from the Hero Arts TAG INFINITY DIES.

For this you would need cardstock that is twice the length of the die. Score it in half the run that with the die through your die cutting machine. Before you do, move the die above the fold in the cardstock so the top edge of the die hangs over the fold. Then cut another single piece of cardstock and adhere that to the front of the folded tag. If you didn't want to do that, you could simple cut a single tag and you'd be good to go.

To make these go even faster, I used my MISTI Stamping Tool so I could stamp the images and the sentiments at the same time. Also, since I knew that I would be watercoloring I wanted to be sure to heat emboss them. So I stamped everything in Versafine ONYX BLACK Ink and Hero Art CLEAR EMBOSSING POWDER. The heat embossing helps keep the colors contained so they don't mix or spread all over. It helps to make the coloring go a lil bit faster too!

I chose easy colors and simple color blends. My favorite thing about this the FOOD PUNS Stamp Set is that the images are so simple in design so I played that up when I chose the colors. The other thing I like about this stamp set is it would be awesome if you colored them in with other mediums. Copic's would be groovy and colored pencils would be awesome! In fact, these would be really cool on Hero Arts KRAFT LAYERING PAPER then colored in with colored pencils.

I added a wee bit of shimmer and some gloss to some of the images to make them look shiny, but otherwise left them clean and simple. That's it! I hope you enjoyed my tags and the Hero Arts Food Pun Stamp Set! Do be sure to check out the VIDEO!

That's it!
